Let the Rain Wash Away Your Worries

How long do you occupy your minds of your worries and problems for the day? Is it too long that you even think of them before going to sleep, and worst, even when you wake up the next day?  Do you always carry them with you wherever you may be, and always grumble about them in all your conversations? Do you let them occupy every corner of your mind that no room is left for happy thoughts?

If your answers are all “yes,” then you’re being extremely obsessed with your problems. It is evident that you are really a worried person. But so is everyone else.

All of us have our share of problems. Yet having them does not mean losing our right to have fun and celebrate life. It is just a matter of having the right disposition. Instead of worrying too much, why don’t you allot your time to reflect on your lives, to plan for tomorrow, and to come up with solutions to the problems that you worry about? Are you aware that many die from severe worrying and other negative emotions? Yes, there are people who end their life by committing suicide or get themselves drunk to death when soaked in a deep situation. I bet you’ll never want to be one of them.

Don’t waste nor lose your life by worrying. Never let your worries master you; let it be the opposite—be in control of them. For those who think that whiskey can solve their problems: think again. Drinking liquor will never cure you nor will it make your problems vanish. They will just submerge you deeper at the bottom of the pitfall you are in.

Worrying also signifies our lack of faith to our Creator/the Universe. In the Bible, Jesus said that we have nothing to worry about and how little faith we have if we worry:

"Don't worry about everyday life--whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life consist of more than food and clothing? Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not. And why worry about your clothes? Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith!”

Have faith then. The universe will never give you more than what you can’t bear. Just stop dwelling on your problems and enjoy life’s journey. There are many good things to live for. Let the rain wash away all your worries as you lightly walk enjoying the beauty of life.
